		<description>They are required to provide a 1099, including the amount your husband earned.  Wow, they&#039;re really trying to charge him for that information?  That&#039;s bold!  

You might tell them they can be fined $50 for not providing that information.  You can find more information about who is required to file Form 1099-MISC here: http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/i1099msc.pdf</description>

		<description>My husband works as contract carrier for a newspaper. he receoved a 1099, but it did not have the amount of pay he received on it.  He called and was told that they did not have to put that information on the 1099, but if he wanted it he could pay them to receive this information. Is that legal, he has done this for about 5 years, and the 1099&#039;s have always had this information until this year.</description>
